| Description: | The Merchandise Planner is responsible for developing, executing and communicating strategic merchandise financial plans and strategies that support the merchandising, marketing, and financial objectives of the organization. The primary duty is to drive financial results that maximize sales, inventory and profit of the organization, through the management and communication of the Open-to-Buy. |
| Duties: | � Mange the financial health of the division by meeting sales, gross margin, and inventory turn goals for the assigned AOR.
� Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by department and category.
� Collaborate with merchant to develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities by department and category.
� Recap sales results to plan, forecast in-season sales and inventory flow.
� Present financial plans, forecasts and strategies in key meetings.
� Manage MAT Open-to-Buy, MAT Pricing Optimization and build MAT Merchandise Buying Plans
� Validate Financial viability of the MAT merchandise assortment across all business channels
� Develop MAT financial metrics and validate MAT merchandising strategy
� Purchase Order Approval (MAT Financial Level),enforce Item/SKU End of Life and develop SKU/Item-level ladder plans
� Ad Hoc MAT Level financial analysis and reporting
� Develops MAT level financial forecasts and MAT-level back end rebate management
� Min/Max inventory level management
� Leads the MAT team financial process
� Challenges depth and breadth of the top-down merchandise assortment plan, promotional strategy, pricing, merchandise financial and forecasts for the assigned AOR in collaboration with the Merchant.
� Performs additional duties as assigned

| Qualifications: | � High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
� 3+ years of progressive business, planning, allocation, or merchandising experience within a fast-paced retail environment.
� Sound understanding of key performance indicators and elements that drive retail profitability and inventory productivity.
� Business knowledge, communication, exceptional organizational skill set. Ability to delivery financial objectives for assigned area of responsibility.
� Strong knowledge of, and the ability to develop and execute merchandise plans down to a category/class/week level in dollars and units to meet required sales, gross margin, inventory turn, and operating profit targets.
� Ability to function within a team, focused on achieving corporate goals.
� Able to understand and develop accurate pre-season assortment plans designed to achieve the financial objectives of the assigned area of responsibility.
� Key item planning capability and a strong knowledge of assortment planning.
� Open-to-Buy knowledge, and decision making experience including appropriate inventory levels by class and order approval in collaboration with the Merchant, and Senior Management.
� Lifecycle Planning and execution experience, including exit strategy planning.
� Ability to travel up to 10%.
� Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily with Excel and Access.
� Requires the ability to multitask and well work under pressure.
� Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, are required.
� Must be able to work extended hours as needed.
