New Category Development Manager

Description:The New Category Development Manager is responsible for growing our SKU count / selling Categories by researching & selecting new Drop Ship / EDI Vendors. Planning and execution throughout the entire selling lifecycle, including: Setting up new vendors, preparing business case, negotiating contracts, defining the marketing vision, and working closely with Vendors, & internal IT/BI/EDI/API, Creative, Accounting, Purchasing and Marketing teams to ensure merchandising revenue goals are met.
Duties:• Increase Drop Ship / EDI Sku Count & Categories by adding strategic vendors to our platform.
• Increase Vendor count, initiate new vendor relationships and programs.
• Identify Growth Categories & Opportunities
• Work on Taxonomy and content to ensure new SKUs and Categories have the needed exposure.
• Negotiate programs / co-op with Virtual Partners
• Be an expert with respect to the competition; act as a leader within the company.
• Reporting/tracks proof of performance of each category.
• Produce Channel & Financial metric reporting.
• Ensures that the marketing supports the company's overall strategy and sales goals.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:• Requires Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Marketing and or business related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience with a multi-channel retailer, preferably having experience with virtual / drop ship vendors and ability to acquire new vendors.
• Independent go-getter, strong verbal & written skills, strong project management skills, strong negotiation skills required.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work with multiple departments to achieve goals.
• Must be able to think creatively, solve problems and take initiative to drive projects to successful completion.
• Requires Intermediate to Advanced Computer/PC Skills, strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Requires the ability to travel up to 15%
• Requires the ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
• Requires excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be able to work extended hours as needed.
